OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLE
Well pressure is transmitted through an insulating metal bellows to a volume of silicone oil which surrounds the quartz pressure crystal. Changes in hydrostatic pressure alter the resonant frequency. A second crystal, not subject to external pressure, provides temperature compensation and allows precise, high-resolution pressure calculations.
Applications
Analysis of draw and build-up pressure transients.
– Measurement of the pressure gradient at the bottom of the hole. TOOL INTERFACTIONS AND COMBINATIONS Mbus, SRO (surface read) or Ultrawire™ Mbus QPS interfaces directly to MPL, XMW and XSH telemetry tools It can be used for memory logging or SRO. SRO QPS can be placed anywhere in the chain and can combine with a second Ultrawire QPS can be placed anywhere in the chain and can combine with others It can be used for memory or recording ORS. Sondex compatible and OPTIONS Ultrawire™ toolbus (UW) or Memory toolbus (Mbus) Waterline memory or surface reading mode (with appropriate telemetry controller).
