DESCRIPTION Simple Quartz Pressure The CNPS quartz pressure tool uses an industry standard precision quartz crystal pressure transducer. The tool measures the pressure and temperature of the manometer.



Wellbore pressure is transmitted through an insulating metal bellows to a volume of silicone oil surrounding the quartz pressure crystal. Changes in hydrostatic pressure alter the resonance frequency. A second crystal, not subjected to external pressure, provides temperature compensation and allows for precision, high-resolution pressure calculations.
